How do you withdraw USDT from Binance?
Open Withdraw in your Binance wallet, choose USDT, paste your own wallet address, pick BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) and confirm with 2FA. The USDT normally arrives within a few minutes. The one thing that loses people money is picking a network their wallet doesn't use.
Most people buy their first USDT on an exchange like Binance. Sooner or later they want it in a wallet they control, and the withdrawal screen is where the expensive mistakes happen. This guide walks through every step for the app and the website, plus fees, timing and what to do once the USDT arrives.
New to stablecoins? Our stablecoin guide explains what USDT is and why the network matters so much. Read that first and this guide will make more sense.
Why bother moving USDT off the exchange?
When your USDT sits on Binance, Binance holds it. You see a balance, but the coins are in the exchange's wallets. That's fine for trading. It's less fine if you want to actually use the money. A USDT wallet you control changes that.
- You hold the keys. In your own wallet, only your seed phrase can move the funds. An exchange can pause withdrawals or freeze an account.
- Apps need a wallet. Payment apps, DeFi tools and networks like TAAQO talk to wallets, not exchange balances.
- You stop paying the exchange to send. From your wallet, each payment costs only the network fee.
- Every move has a receipt. Each transfer gets a public transaction ID you can look up yourself.
Self-custody has a catch, though. Lose your seed phrase and the money is gone. There's no "forgot password" link. If you trade every day, leaving your trading money on the exchange is reasonable. We'd just move the rest.
What is BEP20 USDT?
BEP20 USDT is USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BSC). BEP20 is the token standard on that chain. Think of it as BSC's version of Ethereum's ERC-20. It isn't its own blockchain.
People pick it for a Binance USDT withdrawal because it's cheap, quick to confirm and works with almost every EVM wallet. Addresses start with 0x, just like Ethereum, and you pay gas in BNB. One thing most guides skip: on BscScan the token is labelled Binance-Peg BSC-USD. The BSC version is pegged through Binance rather than issued directly by Tether on that chain. For most people this makes no practical difference, but you should know whose token you're holding.
The withdrawal screen uses a few terms you'll want to recognise:
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Network | The blockchain your USDT travels on: BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), Tron (TRC20), Ethereum (ERC20) and others. |
| Withdrawal fee | Binance's flat charge, taken out of the amount you send. |
| Minimum withdrawal | The smallest amount Binance lets you send on that network. |
| Address | Your wallet's receiving address. On BEP20 it starts with 0x. |
| TXID | The transaction ID. Paste it into a block explorer to watch the transfer. |
| Whitelist | Addresses you've approved. With it switched on, your account can only withdraw to those. |
| Memo / tag | An extra field some networks need. You don't need one for BEP20 USDT going to your own wallet. |
BEP20, TRC20 or ERC20: which network?
Same USDT, different roads. The fee, the address format and whether your wallet can receive it all change with the network.
| BEP20 (BNB Smart Chain) | TRC20 (Tron) | ERC20 (Ethereum) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Binance fee (snapshot, 20 Oct 2026) | 0.01 USDT | 1.5 USDT | 0.4 USDT |
| Minimum (same snapshot) | 5 USDT | 5 USDT | 3 USDT |
| Address starts with | 0x | T | 0x |
| Gas token for later transfers | BNB | TRX | ETH |
| Good for | Cheap transfers, EVM wallets, bridging | Receivers who only accept TRC20 | Ethereum apps and large transfers |
Those fees come from a third-party snapshot of Binance's fee page on 20 October 2026. Binance changes them often. The number on your own withdrawal screen is the one that counts.
Our take. If you're moving USDT into MetaMask or a similar wallet, use BEP20. It's the cheapest of the three and the fewest steps. Use TRC20 only when the person you're paying accepts nothing else. And watch out for this. A 0x address looks valid on both BEP20 and ERC20, so Binance can't warn you if you pick the wrong one. The network dropdown is your only safety check.
What you need first
- A verified Binance account. You can't withdraw without identity verification, and your limits depend on your level.
- 2FA or a passkey. You'll use it to approve the withdrawal.
- A wallet that supports BNB Smart Chain. MetaMask and Trust Wallet both do, as do most EVM wallets. Later, for TAAQO transfers, you can use the TAAQO online wallet.
- Your seed phrase on paper. Write it down before any money goes into a new wallet. Not in a screenshot, not in your notes app.
- Patience for a test. Send a small amount above the minimum first and wait for it to arrive.
Get your wallet ready for BNB Smart Chain
In MetaMask, switch the network to BNB Smart Chain, chain ID 56. Most wallets have it in their built-in network list, so it's one tap. Then copy your account address, the long string starting with 0x. That's what goes into Binance.
How to withdraw USDT from Binance, step by step
These steps follow Binance's own help pages. Button labels move around a little between app updates, but the order doesn't change.
- Open the withdrawal page. In the Binance app, tap Wallets, then Spot, then Withdraw. On the website, go to Wallet, Overview, Withdraw, then Withdraw Crypto.
- Pick USDT. Search for USDT. In the app, tap Send via Crypto Network. Skip the internal transfer option, which only sends to other Binance users.
- Paste your wallet address. Copy the 0x address from your own wallet and paste it in. Compare the first six and last six characters before going on.
- Choose BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). Select BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). Your wallet has to be on the same network.
- Enter the amount and read the fee. Type the amount. Binance shows the fee and the amount that will actually arrive. Read both.
- Confirm. Approve it with your passkey, authenticator code, or the email and SMS codes Binance asks for.
- Check that it landed. Copy the TXID from your withdrawal history, paste it into BscScan, then open your wallet and look for the USDT.
On BscScan, a finished transfer says "Success". Sometimes the transfer is done but your wallet still shows zero. Don't panic. The wallet just isn't displaying the token yet. Import USDT into your wallet's token list and the balance appears.
Turn on the withdrawal whitelist
This takes two minutes and we think everyone should do it. In Binance's address book, save your wallet address with a clear label and the BEP20 network, then switch on the whitelist. From then on, your account can only withdraw to addresses you approved. Binance says that if a hacker gets in and adds their own address, they can't withdraw to it straight away, which buys you time to lock the account.
How long does it take?
A few minutes, usually. There are two stages. Binance processes your request and broadcasts it, then BNB Smart Chain confirms it in seconds.
When it's slow, the hold-up is almost always on Binance's side:
- Security checks. A large amount, a new device or a just-added address can trigger a review.
- Maintenance. Binance sometimes pauses one network during an upgrade. You'll see a notice on the withdrawal screen.
- Limits. Daily withdrawal limits depend on your verification level.
Still pending after an hour? Check Binance's announcements and your withdrawal history first. If you contact support, do it inside the app or on the official website. Never through a Telegram or WhatsApp "agent".
Fees, minimums and limits
There are two separate costs here, and people mix them up all the time.
- Binance's withdrawal fee. A flat USDT amount per network, taken out of what you send. You'll see it next to the "you will receive" figure.
- Network fees later on. Once the USDT is in your wallet, sending, swapping or bridging it on BNB Smart Chain needs a little BNB. Receiving the withdrawal costs you nothing.
Binance also has a minimum per network. Below it, the withdraw button won't respond. Moving a big amount? Check your daily limit in account settings before you start, not halfway through.
Mistakes we see most often
| Mistake | What happens | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| Picking a network your wallet doesn't support | The USDT doesn't show up, or is lost | Check the network in Binance and in your wallet before you paste |
| Sending to another exchange on the wrong network | Funds sit stuck until that exchange's support helps, if it can | Pick BEP20 on the receiving exchange first, then copy its address |
| No BNB in the wallet afterwards | You can't move the USDT anywhere | Keep a small amount of BNB on BNB Smart Chain |
| Pasting an address that changed | Clipboard malware or address poisoning sends it to a scammer | Copy fresh from your wallet and check the first and last six characters |
| Logging in through a fake Binance link | Your password and 2FA codes get stolen | Type the address yourself or use the app, and set up a passkey |
| Sending everything at once | One slip costs the lot | Test with a small amount, wait, then send the rest |
One rule with no exceptions: nobody legitimate asks for your seed phrase. Not Binance, not your wallet's support, not us. Anyone who asks is trying to rob you.
What can you do with USDT in your own wallet?
Quite a lot. You can pay a freelancer, send money to family, settle an invoice or just hold dollars. If you make lots of small payments, it can also make sense to move the USDT to a lower-fee network.
That's where TAAQO comes in, and yes, this is our product, so weigh it accordingly. BEP20 USDT is on BNB Smart Chain, and the TAAQO USDT bridge takes USDT from BNB Smart Chain onto TAAQO. Our bridge charges 0.10% with a 1 USDT minimum and delivers in about 30 seconds. A standard transfer on TAAQO costs 0.00000002 TAAQO in network fees. The USDT arrives as wrapped USDT. If you want to try it:
- Add the TAAQO network (chain ID 5566) from the network settings page.
- Practise with free test tokens from the faucet before using real money.
- Bridge a small amount of BEP20 USDT with the USDT bridge. Keep a little BNB for the approve and deposit steps.
- Add USDT to your wallet view on the import tokens page.
- Look up the transfer on TAAQO Scan.
If you're in India
Binance registered with India's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-IND) as a reporting entity in 2024, after paying a penalty for past non-compliance. India taxes crypto gains at a flat 30%, and 1% TDS can apply to transfers. Budget 2026 kept both and added penalties for reporting lapses.
Moving USDT from your Binance account to your own wallet isn't the same as selling it. Still, how tax applies depends on your situation, so keep every TXID and withdrawal record and talk to a tax adviser before you file. We're not tax advisers, and this isn't tax advice.
Frequently asked questions
How do I withdraw USDT from Binance to my own wallet?
Go to Withdraw in your Binance wallet, pick USDT and Send via Crypto Network, paste your wallet address, choose BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), enter the amount and confirm with 2FA. Most BEP20 withdrawals land within a few minutes.
Which network is cheapest for a Binance USDT withdrawal?
Usually BEP20. A snapshot of Binance's fee page on 20 October 2026 showed 0.01 USDT for BEP20, 0.4 USDT for ERC20 and 1.5 USDT for TRC20. Binance changes these often, so trust the number on your withdrawal screen.
What is BEP20 USDT?
It's USDT on BNB Smart Chain. BEP20 is the token standard there, the same idea as ERC-20 on Ethereum, not a separate blockchain. Addresses start with 0x and fees on the chain are paid in BNB.
How long does a Binance USDT withdrawal take?
Usually a few minutes on BEP20. Binance processes the request first, then the chain confirms it in seconds. A security check, a newly added address or network maintenance can slow the first part down.
What happens if I choose the wrong network?
If your wallet doesn't support that network, the USDT won't show up and may be lost. When the same 0x address works on both networks, the owner can sometimes recover it by switching networks in the wallet. Don't count on that. Match the network every time.
Do I need BNB in my wallet to receive USDT?
No. Binance pays the network fee on a withdrawal. You will need a little BNB later, when you send, swap or bridge that USDT from your wallet.
Is there a minimum USDT withdrawal on Binance?
Yes, and it differs by network. The 20 October 2026 fee snapshot listed 5 USDT for BEP20. Below the minimum, the withdraw button simply won't work.
Is it safe to keep USDT in my own wallet?
It's as safe as your seed phrase. Nobody can freeze a self-custody wallet the way an exchange can pause an account, but nobody can rescue you if you lose the phrase either. Write it on paper, never share it, and test with a small amount.
Final thoughts
Withdrawing USDT from Binance really comes down to one check. The network on Binance has to match the network in your wallet. For most people heading to MetaMask or a similar wallet, BEP20 is the cheap, simple choice. Paste carefully, send a test, keep the TXID, and leave a little BNB in the wallet for later.
After that, the USDT is properly yours. When you're ready, bridge a small amount to TAAQO and try a payment. This article is for information only and isn't financial or tax advice. Binance is a third-party exchange and has no connection with TAAQO. Crypto carries risk, so do your own research.
